One big factor in maintaining a business, especially a small business is in knowing who your customers are. I don't mean several hundred names on a database, I mean developing a personal business relationship with those customers that bring you business and referrals. In fact, every name on your database already knows you exist, how can you increase the likelihood of a future business relationship?

Make these customers feel like they are the best customer you have during every contact. If they are in your place of business, give them your full attention without interruption. The same goes for phone contact.

Give them the product or service they expect in a timely manner. Respect their deadlines and be open to reasonable requests.

If a customer feels like they are not getting the service they deserve, they will look for a different alternative. There are many businesses vying for your customer's business. Take action; don't assume that they are committed to your company.

What is the number one reason businesses lose customers? They feel unappreciated. What can you do to stop the bleed in your business?

Take steps to build long-lasting relationships.

It costs a lot of advertising bucks to bring in new business but showing appreciation to your current customers is relative inexpensive.

Stay in your customer's mind, show your appreciation, and thank them for their business and referrals.

How? Send business greeting cards. Start and follow a greeting card campaign. The setup is minimal and the impact is huge. Grow your business through repeat business and referrals.

There are two ways to begin your greeting card campaign. Place an order customized cards and send them yourself, or contact a greeting card professional that will set up and manage your campaign for you at a reasonable cost.

Hiring a greeting card professional gives your staff the time needed to handle your present and new customers. Don't wait; consider starting a relationship marketing campaign today!
