CCNP Boot Camp Certification

Submitted by smita
Thu, 9 Aug 2007

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is an intermediate level certification for IT professionals who can install, configure and troubleshoot local and wide area network for enterprise organizations. Network Professionals who achieve the CCNP have demonstrated the knowledge and skills required to manage the routers and switches that form the network core, as well as edge applications that integrate voice, wireless, and security into the network.

The CCNP is considered proof of having the ability to work with medium-sized networks (between 100 and 500 end devices) and with technology such as QoS, broadband, VPNs, and security-minded features. To acquire a CCNP, one must pass four tests, and either re-certify or upgrade to a CCIE every three years. The CCNA is a pre-requisite for CCNP, but CCIE does not have any pre-requisites.

To give yourself the best shot at passing the CCNP Certification exams you'll need to get your hands on some actual hardware to practice on, and if you can't do that then at the very least get yourself a good simulator to work. The CCNP certification track is not one where you can brain dump your way into a job.

The Benefits
