Philanthropist Dr. Ignatius Piazza to be found in an improbable place: the Nevada Desert

Dr. Ignatius Piazza runs a large firearms training resort in the Nevada desert. The Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is roughly a 45 minute drive from the Las Vegas strip. Dr. Ignatius Piazza, a former chiropractor who opened the firearms training institute in 1996, has trained tens of thousands of people to correctly operate firearms. The institute offers training courses in handguns, shotguns, rifles and submachine guns. The institute also offers training in martial arts and other forms of self-defense. Says Dr. Ignatius Piazza, “After your first self defense firearms training course at Front Sight you will leave with self defense firearms training skills that surpass 99% of the gun owning population.” Dr. Ignatius Piazza is himself a certified combat master in four different firearms, making him more than qualified to offer training courses. Dr. Ignatius Piazza is also the creator of a reality show airing on Versus (VS) network entitled “Front Sight Challenge”. Piazza hired a producer and director himself and sold the completed product to Versus network after three months of filming. The show places 40 law enforcement officers in competition against 40 citizens aged 15 to 65. The competitions on the show are designed to test the contestant’s skills with a variety of firearms, including handguns, rifles, shotguns and submachine guns.

This combat master, firearms trainer and reality television producer would seem to be an unlikely candidate to be bitten by the philanthropy bug. Despite that, Dr. Ignatius Piazza displays proudly on his site (link below), that he has donated over 5 million dollars in cash and benefits to various charities. As soon as you log on to this site, you are greeted by an encouraging letter from Dr. Ignatius Piazza himself. We are now in a position to assist any organization that promotes or defends the freedoms enjoyed in our great country or any organization that works diligently to improve the lives of all men, women, and children. On the site, one can easily see the huge array of charities to which Dr. Ignatius Piazza has donated. The individual charities are too numerous to list, but the categories encompassing them are: Children’s Charities, Civil Liberty Charities, Educational Charities, Health Research Charities, Military Charities, Police Charities, Religious Charities, Service Organizations, and Women’s Charities.

As he says in his opening address, Dr. Ignatius Piazza is prepared to help any charity which is helping others. He extends an open invitation to any charity which, “has a website and a proven track record of helping others,” and promises to, “personally respond to your request within one week.”

Rarely is the attitude displayed by Dr. Ignatius Piazza on his website echoed in the America of today. Many highly profitable business ventures and wealthy people could learn from the lesson offered by Dr. Ignatius Piazza, and begin to offer help to those who are all-too-often forgotten in an individualist society such as ours: those who help others.
