Purchasing Domain NameSubmitted by remediesathome Sat, 11 Jul 2009
So you're starting a website and have visions of making hundreds, even thousands of dollars in sales a day.
You've done your market research, found a profitable niche, planned your website's theme and layout. Now all you need to do is build the site, buy a domain name and - voila - the cash starts rolling in. A domain name is the word used for the actual website address. When someone keys in the domain name they will find your website. It is important that every e-Book you write and has a new and different domain name. This makes you e-Book stay in the memory of the customer and makes it a far more professional looking. Your domain name must describe what your e-Book is about. For example if your e-Book was about building garden sheds, you should have a domain name like www.buildingardensheds.com . You might notice that my domain has ".com" at the end. It seems to me like a hidden art. There's not very much talk about it in the general internet marketing forums. And everywhere on the net you see ebooks on "How To" write ebooks for profit, do JV (joint venture) deals, ebooks on site traffic, blogging techniques, affiliate marketing, rss feeds...... on and on and on and very little information on the business of buying and selling domain names. So that means it's a business who's time has passed or a very lucrative one that's hidden from the people who jump on the bandwagon. A domain name. The domain name for your one-page site should mirror or closely resemble your product name, or a prominent feature of your product. So, for example, if you are a hypnotherapist and you have a podcast that you're selling on how to use self-hypnosis to lose weight, then you'd want to try and get a domain name like LoseWeightFast.com. Try and get the .com version of your domain name if possible, but if that's not available, seek out the hyphenated version of the .com domain name. In most cases, a one or two word domain name will have a higher value than multiple word domains. Correctly spelled common words and phrases have a higher value than obscure words and sayings, or misspellings. Domain names that are easy to say, spell, and remember and have easily identifiable meanings are the ones everyone is looking for, which obviously raises their value. That's some serious money. Imagine where you would be right now if you had purchased any one of these a few years ago when domain names were so cheap people could buy these basic names at less than $10.00 per name. Better yet imagine where you would be if you had the foresight to have purchased any two of these basic domain names. Choose your product from the public domain. There are millions of products and thousands of subjects to choose from so I won't go into detail here. I assume you've done some research and chosen a subject you think will sell, and now you just need to create some means of attracting potential buyers and convincing them to click that button to buy.
