Are You On The Verge Of Quitting?

Submitted by kimduke

Psssst. Lean in - I have something to share with you. Especially if you're feeling a little beat up in the game of sales.
I believe if you're an entrepreneur or in sales - you deserve a gold star!
Why?
Because we're people who don't get regular pay cheques like the rest of the madding crowd. We ONLY get paid when we SELL. (Now look in the mirror because I just pasted a BIG Star on your forehead!)
And sometimes it feels like sales are slow, no one is calling you back, and you couldn't come up with a new idea if your life depended on it. (thank goodness that's not the case!)
And every now and then the little thought crosses your mind...
"Maybe I should just QUIT"
You want to quit:
• Contacting the person who isn't calling you back
• Trying to get new business
• Spending money on your marketing and sales efforts
• Banging your head against the wall
• Because you're tired of all the rejection
• Worrying about money
Sometimes You Should Quit
Well you should quit banging your head against the wall and also worrying about money. (Both are an exercise in futility lady!)
And you also will want to quit CHASING customers that aren't the right fit for you.
But Before You QUIT Selling To Someone Who Is A Great Fit...
...ask yourself this question first.
"How bad do I want it?"
If you're in sales for the fast buck, oh boy - are you in for a shocker. To be successful in sales you have to be the person who is willing to stay the course even when it's tough AND also someone who knows when they should change direction.
When you ask yourself "How BAD do I want it" it acts as a magnificent filter.
Let's be honest here. Some clients will not pass the "How BAD do I want it" filter.
And then there are other potential customers where you want their business so bad you can taste it. You can feel it in your gut that you can help them BETTER than anyone else.

Don't Give Up When You're Sooooo Close To Success
Selling is not about having meetings and phone calls and then depositing money in your bank account. It is about helping people and showing that you're UNIQUE and that you're CREATIVE for them (Then it is an ENDLESS STREAM of depositing money into your bank account!)
If you keep doing the same-old strategies to get business and none of them are working, then I think you need to ask yourself 2 questions:
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?
HOW CAN I BE MORE CREATIVE WITH THIS?
And then pick your head and feet up. Go meet with someone you can brainstorm with and get their advice. And make a decision on how important this is to you.
A Few Last Words From Your Sales Diva:
Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit.
So there.
Love From Your Bossy Sales Diva,
Kim
