Functions and Specification of Plant Process Equipments

Submitted by ashishjuneja

Mixing tanks, stainless steel vessels are some of the most important equipments which generally include in the plant process or in big constructional sites. These are some of the most basic components of a process but to prepare a specification of each you need to face some interesting challenges. This is because a wide variety of functions can perform by process vessels in every plant according to the need. We need to be very much clear about our requirements before approaching the market, as it can save both our time and money.

What is your main motive to use a particular vessel in the plant process equipment? Will it be intended for mixing or storing? Such questions are pretty obvious and needs a strong consideration, as after thinking so much on such questions, we can come up with a clear vision about which process plant equipment should we use. A mixing vessel will need a more strong construction and different materials of construction than a vessel intended for product or raw material storage. The operating condition should be determined whether the vessel requires heating or cooling or will it operate at ambient temperature.

The other important thing which we have to keep in records is the compatibility of the vessel, as it has a large effect on its construction, configuration and final cost. But it is very difficult for us to keep a record of every possible chemical that will be used in the tank. This problem is pretty much oblivious for corrosives and solvents that will command the materials of construction for the vessel, nozzles, gaskets, instruments and piping. We need to act according to the available Chemical Compatibility Databases for selecting the materials for the vessel.

Greenplant Stainless is the UK's largest supplier that supplies new and second-hand mixing vessels, stainless steel vessels, stainless steel mixing tanks, plant process equipment, process plant equipment, process plant machinery, reactors, mixers, pumps etc. to all the industries.
