Diamond Concrete Polishing

Submitted by smozwt
Mon, 19 Apr 2010

Thanks to the mechanical concrete polishing process of diamond grinding, floors can be polished from a satin sheen to a high gloss. Polishing concrete floors also increases the brightness of the area as ambient lighting is increased by up to 30%.

The grinding process begins with a coarse grind to level out imperfections in the floor and progresses to a finer grind where a densifier is added to penetrate into the concrete and harden the concrete in preparation for the final polishing steps. The polishing will progress through finer and finer grindings up to the 3000 grit finish, which gives the ultimate glass-like polished floor.

The best polished concrete floors use lithium densifiers to penetrate and harden the concrete surface and lithium finish coats for the longest life and best appearance.

Polishing concrete floors can produce a floor with a nearly perfect reflection and the look of polished marble. Just as marble can be found in nature in different colors, concrete floors can be dyed in an array of colors and are extremely durable and scratch resistant.

Where regular concrete floors produce dusts, polished concrete floors eliminate such dusting and require only proper routine cleaning and maintenance. And since the floor is already shining, wax should never be used.

A properly maintained floor's shine will last for years.

Concrete polishing is rapidly becoming the favorite choice for finishing concrete floors due to its attractive appearance, high reflectivity, and low maintenance. Polished concrete is an ideal floor for industry, schools, retail stores, restaurants, and show rooms. If you know at preconstruction that a polished floor is to be installed, request floor flatness (Ff) of 50 or better to get the best results.

Blackwell's Inc. can transform your dull, lifeless concrete floor into an elegant, highly reflective, almost marble-like surface. We are located in West Central Georgia, but offer concrete polishing and burnishing service anywhere in the southeastern United States.

I am Zeal and working in flooring service provider association. Writing is my hobby and so in like to write articles on polishing concrete floors and other services where I found it important.
