E- Learning Market Trends and Advantages

E- LEARNING
Electronic learning or E-learning is a general term used to refer to computer-enhanced learning. It is used interchangeably in so many contexts that it is critical to be clear what one means when one speaks of 'E-Learning'. In many respects, it is commonly associated with the field of advanced learning technology, which deals with both the technologies and associated methodologies in learning using networked and multimedia technologies.
Technology
At the core of our e-learning strategy is our whiteboard technology. Think of it as a virtual chalkboard on your computer where students and tutors can work out problems and diagrams in real-time, creating an instantaneous rapport that's a key to learning. There's no email and no waiting. The software works on both Windows and Macs. So it works great with practically any computer, with any Internet connection. Our students only communicate with their tutors, so there are no chat rooms and no way for a student's personal information to leave our secure system. When using E-learning to train users of corporate computer systems, normally achieved by way of simulation-based learning content, the learner finds himself in a software environment that is exactly like the real one but which does not carry the same error risk.
MARKET
With an already strong foothold in the enterprise sector, e-learning is advancing in K-12 and higher education teaching environments, according to San Jose, CA-based market researchers Global Industry Analysts, which project the global e-learning market to surpass around $55 billion by 2010.
Already the 2007 U.S. e-learning market is $17.5 billion according to "eLearning: A Global Strategic Business Report," a new report recently published by Global Industry Analysts. While Europe and Japan lag on e-learning adoption compared to the United States (U.S. enterprise e-learning adoption accounts for 60 percent of the market, while Europe's accounts for 15 percent), overall usage of e-learning in Asia is expected to reach a compound annual growth rate of 25 percent to 30 percent through 2010, according to the firm. Worldwide that rate should hit between 15 percent and 30 percent, the report states.
The key driver for e-learning usage is attributed to an increased number of solutions and services. However, the report warns that a lack of interoperability standards could stifle e-learning's growth. There are many organizations in this market, including companies such as SNRYtutors, New Horizons, Knowledge Anywhere, TutorVista and many others.

ADVANTAGES
Key advantages of E-learning are flexibility, convenience and the ability to work at any place where an internet connection is available and at one's own pace. Learning is unscheduled. It means that you don't have to attend classes on regular basis. You can choose to work and study at any time of the day you like. The class timings are totally flexible. A student can choose whatever time is convenient 24X7.
Private tuitions can be very expensive and can range from $50 to $100 per hour, whereas at SNRYtutors, you can study for unlimited number of hours for just $99 per month. SNRYtutors believes parents know their children best, and parental involvement is an important part of learning. That's why all tutoring sessions are recorded and archived. This allows parents to examine their child's sessions and track their progress. Plus, our instructors are eager to incorporate learning suggestions from parents to optimize the tutoring sessions
You have an access to a wealth of resources extremely easily, quickly and relatively cheap. Just imagine that you'll be able to get any materials needed for your studying with a simple click of your mouse.
