Submitted by eastbiz

Indiana is still a major center of heavy manufacturing industry, although not as intensely as it used to be. Northwest Indiana is the largest steel producing area in the U.S. and it is a sort of unique area in that it has maintained its industrial production despite globalization. There are lots of possibilities for your prospective Indiana Incorporation. Part of this is because of the high skill levels of Indiana’s workers, and lower expenses in the small towns of Northern Indiana. Indiana's other manufactures include pharmaceuticals and medical devices, electrical equipment, transportation equipment, chemical products, rubber, and petroleum. Centers of manufacturing include Gary Indiana, outside of Chicago, and Ft. Wayne in Northeastern Indiana. There are also tourist sites throughout the state of Indiana, from the Indianapolis 500 Raceway to small towns on the Indiana and Ohio border.

Michigan City is located on the Lake Michigan waterfront and now is the location of quite a bit of gambling. The Blue Chip Casino and Hotel now has 2,000 new slot machines. This is in addition to roulette, craps and blackjack games. These are located near the beach and together with restaurants and hotel rooms. Casinos are also found in Gary Indiana, East Chicago Indiana, and Hammond Indiana. The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond Indiana has over 46,000 square feet of gaming space, from video poker, to blackjack and roulette, so this is not a small time operation.
Indiana is home to the international headquarters of pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly as well as the headquarters of Mead Johnson Nutritionals, which is a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb. Elkhart, in the north, has also had a strong economic base of pharmaceuticals.

The state is located within the Corn Belt and the state's agricultural reflect this since it uses a feedlot-style system raising corn to fatten hogs and cattle. Soybeans are also a major cash crop. Other production includes dairy, and egg production.

The state’s largest city is Indianapolis, with a metropolitan population of over 1.6 million people. It is the state capitol of Indiana and also serves as the center of several college campuses included Purdue University, Indianapolis and the University of Indianapolis. For an exciting time you can go to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the world famous Grand Prix race. Nearby are Indianapolis area vineyards, and visitors can see them and take a sample taste at the Easley Winery. They produce there 24 award winning wines, and restaurants and other amusements are in the area. At the Holiday Inn North is Indiana’s Indoor Waterpark, including body slides, jet sprays and spas. Another interesting spot to visit is the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. At the White River Trader, the Museum’s shop, authentic American Indian Art is on sale, including Totem Turquoise. Though much of this is produced further west in Nevada and Arizona it is available in Indiana, which is named after the land of the Indians. For a more rural trip, the Bearcreek Farms Country resort is located near the Ohio border, and is a relaxing place to go. Miniature golf, golf and lake and swimming activities are available
