Research in Micro Cap Stocks

Submitted by HGSarticles
Wed, 15 Jul 2009

If you want to get a Wall Street analysis of a popular large cap stock, say Microsoft, then you will not only find that there is an over-abundance of information but also that there is a general consent within it. To address the issue of too much information, this is because Wall Street generates revenues from selling research to institutions that mainly invest in large cap stocks (not to mention the investment banking business the firms get from the companies they research, thereby the industry as a whole having a lot more "buy" than "sell" recommendations!). As to the issue of consent (or, more bluntly put, herd mentality), that exists because most analysts are scared to be wrong and lose their job - they can always defend their mistakes by saying everyone else was saying the same thing.
When it comes to research on the very small cap stocks or micro cap stocks, Wall Street finds no revenue-generation by spending their time researching and recommending the trading of these penny stocks.
So who follows these emerging companies, these small and micro stocks that will be the darling of Wall Street at some point? Although there is some attention being paid to this sector, the research in micro cap stocks continues to be dominated by independent penny stock newsletters, now more on the web rather than snail mail. The strength of such newsletters is determined by the returns of the micro cap stocks recommended by them. For instance, www.hypergrowthstock.com has attained a reputation by consistently issuing stock alerts to their subscribers that have helped them attain triple-digit growth on an annual basis.
Add to the above, the fact that more than 50% of the US listed (on exchanges and pink sheets) companies is micro cap stocks and yet they constitute less than 3% of the overall market capitalization, and one begins to understand where the next wave of innovative growth is going to come from. Although the financial structure of Wall Street makes sense to concentrate on the large cap companies and ignore the small stocks, the truly enterprising investor should research the best penny stock newsletters to receive timely stock alerts to uncover the next Microsoft.
We recommend to use newsletter services where you can learn as you trade, there are many types of newsletters and to read one that has Fundamental information and also Technical Analysis is one method that help learn very fast. www.HyperGrowthStock.com is such a service and you should go register, it's a FREE service loaded with valuable information and many alerts every week.
