I don't care what anyone says, network marketing has to be one of the best ways to make ongoing monthly passive income.

Network marketing has a very low start up cost, no monthly inventory, you don't need a university degree or business experience, and anyone can do it.

Sure you here the horror stories about network marketing (sometimes referred to as MLM), but you also hear the success stories.

So what makes someone a sucess at network marketing while other fail?

Read on and I will tell you the differences and give you the steps to be successful in your network marketing business.

The number 1 reason for success is ..

Are you expecting me to say attitude? Well you would be right... partically.

When it all comes down to it, you and your attitude are the only thing that is stopping you from achieving whatever it is your heart desires. Success is a attitude. It is not money, wealth or power. Take away the money of a successful person and he'll have it all back and more in a few years. Give an unsuccessful person a million dollars (lottery winner) and chances are he'll lose it all within a few years. The difference is their attitude.

But it goes farther than that as well.

The number 2 reason for success is ...

Your success also depends on the product you are selling. Having a product that people want makes your job of promoting your network marketing company so much easier. I mean really, who is going to want to join your company if they have no interest in the product.

Some companies have really great products, but the product has a similar quality product that can be sold in the store for much less. In that situation, which product does the average person want to buy? That's right, the one from the store.

Currently, the world is in the middle of health awareness and healthy products are becoming the 'in' thing. More and more people are buying healthy products and making healthy living choices. But people are still people and most do not want to have to order a product every month when it doesn't excite them.

There are quite a few network marketing companies that are selling healthy products, but your chances of success will greatly increase if you promoting a company that is selling a product that people love - and can't live without - like healthy chocolate.

Even though health is the newest and latest trend, it is still difficult for the majority of network marketing companies that sell healthy products because the distributors have to do a hard sell to convince their downlines to buy the product every month. It is pretty hard to get excited about a 'healthy drink' that doesn't really taste that good.

You have to agree, it is much easier to signup new distributors who want to be paid to eat something like delicious dark chocolate over something that taste like chalk.

Not to mention, it is easier for you to promote a product that you like and are excited about yourself.

That is why the product you are choosing to promote is important. Pick a product that people want and are already going go out of their way to have. With the right product, your new distributors will retain their monthy purchase orders because they are getting paid to purchase something that can't live without.

The number 3 reason for success is ..

One of the reasons people fail at network marketing is because they don't want to sell, bug their friends and family, or maintain a 'business'.

New distributors will copy what you are doing, and learn from your actions. You can also be sure that when they are considering the opportunity they are imagining themselves doing exactly the same things you are - so are you doing things that are painless and easy to duplicate?

Are you hosting seminars? Weekly meetings? Conventions? Are your prospects confortable with doing that as well?

Are you simply talking about your product and sharing how glad you are that you discovered it? Can you prospects do that?

You have to pick and choose your approach and keeping in mind that the people you are talking to are comparing your actions to something they would feel comfortable with.

The number 4 reason for success is ...

Often we distributors talk to new prospects about their network marketing opportunity the prospect is interested but the time isn't right.

Other times, the prospect may not be interested and then a couple of months later their situation changes and they may want to learn more about your opportunity.

Do you have a follow-up system in place for these types of situations? Can your prospect get a hold of you several months, or years, later for more information?

A good follow-up sytem is one that will keep you name and contact information in front of the prospecty, plus be building a relationship at the same time.

One of the best follow-up systems I have seen is a simple postcard. You create the postcard, online from your computer, to send to your prospects - first for thanking them for their time, and then occassionally just to say hi.

A good system will remember names and addresses in a contact manager so that additional followup postcards are easy to send. Having a database that remembers the contact details makes your life easier = especially when you may have hundreds of contacts.

It really doesn't get much easier than that.

This follow-up system is something that all your downline can plug into and use - it is so easy to duplicate and use.

The number 5 reason for success is ..

Having distributors that have the mindset of success will effectively place your business in the lead. A success mindset is vital to anyone who wants to succeed and get ahead in life.

All distributors should be plugged into a system that teaches their downlines business and success concepts. This will help their business grow and expand, plus give them the personal development that is necessary for success.

The best system to use to get your distributors on the road to success? Good old fashioned books.

That right - books. Reading, learning, and obsorbing success methods, still have to be the best way to begin to learn success strategies.

Create a recommended reading program for your distributors - each month have them read a new success book. You will be surprised at the results you will see.

As I said, network marketing has to be one of the best ways to make passive monthy income - it beats traditional business by a mile.

By following these easy steps, and showing your distributors how to follow them as well, your business will grow beyond your wildest dreams.
