Necessity of CRM for small business

Now that is a common question that I come across quite a lot. I have to agree though that it is not the smartest one that I have heard. With the business environment getting more competitive by the minute, it is down to the basics.

Have you heard of ‘Survival of the fittest’? It is a law that applies to life in the wild. Only the fittest animal that is capable of adapting to all kinds of environments will survive the race.

The same law applies to life in the business world now. No matter what kind of a company you are, you need to be ahead and stay ahead of your competitors.

CRM is the fulcrum of most profitable businesses today. There are CRM solutions that have been tailored for small businesses as well.

So why should a small business be left behind?

First things first

Ok, now you know that CRM is imperative for the success of a small business. But if you are new and venturing into the market, you might just end up confused with the huge number of small business CRM tools on offer. Ask yourself a few questions before you start to look for a CRM tool for your small business.
• Apart from sales, accounting and contact management, which are features of almost all CRM programs, what else are you looking for?
• Is project analysis and cross reference a wanted feature?
File sharing definitely must be on the top of your list.

Once you have the features that you want, then start to shortlist a few CRM applications. Add your pricing preferences to them.

Within no time, you should have a list of CRM applications that suit you. You can choose from hosted CRM applications and on site CRM applications. Both have their own range of pros and cons.
