Anytime a potential customer wants to know something about your business, if they can not come in personally at that moment, chances are that they will give you a call. Anyway you can bring in profits is what business is all about. The bad thing about phone calls is that they can really take up a lot of your valuable time and be intrusive especially if you are waiting on a customer that is present. However, the phones must be answered regardless if they come at an inconvenient moment or not.
The ideal solution would be to always have enough employees on hand to make sure that every phone call to your business gets answered promptly and the customer gets the information they need. With large corporations that have thousands of calls a day, this can be almost impossible in some cases. For small business owners it can also be difficult to afford as many employees to ensure each call is answered promptly. The newest and best solution to the too many calls to answer immediately problem is using automated phone answering or on hold messaging. This ensures that the calls get answered and instead of a customer hearing silence while they wait to speak to someone, they can will hear advertising for your business or information that might possibly answer the question they were going to ask without having to actually speak to anyone. If it is necessary for them to continue to hold on the line until they can speak with a live person, then at least you know they are being attended to temporarily. If you normally play background music while your phone customer is on hold, satellite radio is the best way to go. It is always clear and static free sound with no commercial interruptions. You can use the satellite radio channel that you prefer the most. You may choose to have the music interrupted periodically with your on hold messaging. This will further distract a customer from the amount of time they have been waiting. Keeping your customers entertained while they are on hold is very important because for every customer that gets annoyed and hangs up, that is the loss of a potential business transaction. Check into having these great phone line features added in your place of business. The amount of money that it will cost you will probably be well worth the investment.
