Your Illinois Corporation- in the Heart of the Midwest

Submitted by eastbiz

Illinois is the largest state by population in the Midwest, and has a varied economy. In the north by Lake Michigan is the city of Chicago, the third-largest in the United States, while southern and central Illinois are leading growers of soybeans, wheat and corn, and also there is a large output of hog, cattle and dairy products. Illinois is the second largest producer of corn, now in the spotlight as also a source of material to create bio-fuels and ethanol for gasoline.
The capital of the state is Springfield which is close to the intense agricultural regions of Illinois. Springfield also gets quite a bit of touristy attention with all the sites that are associated with the beginning of the political career of President Abraham Lincoln. There are quite a few fields for you to submit your Illinois Incorporation from big business to agriculture to historical sites.

Chicago is still a center of manufacture of machinery, food processing and processing of petroleum and coal. This is despite the downturn in many auto production plants. It is still, as it has always been a railroad and transportation routes. By rail and by canal, Chicago is connected to the Mississippi River system as well as to the Great Lakes and Atlantic Ocean shipping. Illinois has also been an historic center of nuclear power development. The first atomic pile was built at the University of Chicago, during the World War II Manhattan project. Eleven nuclear reactors produce the largest amount of nuclear electricity in Illinois of any state. Chicago’s O’Hare Airport is an incredibly busy and large airport, and also the hub airport for a number of airlines.

Chicago is a major center of the new globalized speculative economy, having its own branch of the US Federal Reserve. Financial derivative trading is centered in the Chicago Stock Exchange the Chicago Board of Trade, and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and the Chicago Board Option Exchange. Chicago has become a world center for speculative financial activity, all forms of financial derivatives, and the onshore portion of international hedge fund and speculative companies. The Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange were old centers of speculative on the prices of agricultural products. Later they branched out into derivative contracts based on futures, interest rate futures and other numerical values. Fortune 500 companies including: Boeing, Walgreen’s, Motorola, Caterpillar, Sears (which just merged with K-Mart), State Farm Insurance, Allstate, Deere, McDonald's, Aon, Office Max and others. Chicago is still a center of conventions and other business activities.

Peoria, in central Illinois, on the Illinois River, has a metropolitan area population of 360,000 people. It has become well-known as a typical city of the American Heartland. Peoria is the location of the headquarters of Caterpillar, the famous tractor, bulldozer and engine company.

Further down across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, Missouri, is the city of East St. Louis, Illinois. This city has become rundown of the past decades, but got a spurt of economic activity with the establishment of the Casino Queen Riverboat Casino in the 1990s.
