Halloween is a holiday that has been for many centuries. Did you ever think when did women's Halloween costumes become so famous? Well, one should first look at how Halloween came about. It began as a religious holiday meant to mollify the Gods and to condemn evil. It was thought that the souls of the dead were able to come on this night. It is mostly of European descent that is Celtic and Druid religions. The Celts and Druids are the initial ones that dressed up in costumes. They chiefly wore animal skins and plant skins to ask for God to grant them a abundant harvest and easy hunting so that the forthcoming winter season would go by by without much harm to them. It was also to guard them from any lifeless souls that might have made it through to the real world.

As the years passed the custom of Halloween began to change. It stayed typically a religious holiday waiting the late 1800's. But it was at this point that the thoughts changed to be more comprehensive. That said, the changes have been mostly considered in the United States and this is when most of began changing the celebration to not be only paying attention on a good harvest, but on family celebrations. Becoming more family oriented it permitted people to have fun in the holiday together and possibly even bring the community together. It was at this point in history that costumes began to come to the vanguard more and more.

Girls and boys, as well as men and women, dress up these days for this magical holiday. Though formerly it was only children that got dressed up, that has changed as the years have passed. Pop culture is a exact influence on how one dresses. Kids naturally dress based on what is on the cartoon channels they watch, while men and women dress as what they think like being for a night. Halloween provides a night to allow your guard down and become a great hero, animal, or anything because an outfit lets you to transform. As dressing up is so famous with men and women, costume parties are being the novel it thing. Parties for adults with contests and such have made this one night a massive party event.

With so many shops out there, there are a lot of options for females. It actually depends on what the individual is looking for. At times it is easier for someone to step out of their relieve zone to become something that they usually would not even think about! Take your average woman of now, they could dress from something as hilarious as a fifties do-wop girl to something sexy like a French maid.

Traditionally, women's Halloween costumes were chiefly characters like witches or teachers; normally they did not step outside the comfort zones of what women customarily did or were portrayed as. As the years have passed, they have begun to run the gamut. It is usually the night of anything goes. They are not just locked into dressing up in a traditional garment like a witches smock, but they may think outside the box and dress in something very noncustomery. The more imaginative an outfit is lets the person wearing the outfit to actually become that person, animal or character. Women may actually benefit from dressing up for the day and or night as it is never too late to explore the boundaries of what people expect of you. Dressing up in costumes lets you to allow down your guard to be someone else for a short time. The day after Halloween, the costume is gone to the closet with memories of a fun time wearing it!
