There is a secret to success with an online home based business. Every successful home business owner does certain things that develop a following, build a list, and buy their products or join their business.
Most people who try to build a business online fail in one or all of these categories. It is not because they cannot do it, but simply they do not know what to do. Knowing these three “C's” of successful online home based business owners may help you develop a better business online. 1.Consistency This is the area where more fail than not. I asked a mentor of mine about when success, or perceived success, occurred for him. His response is that he did not know. Instead, he alluded to the fact the just kept doing it. He kept at it until he saw the benefits of his work. But he also stated that consistency is the key to success. Consistency for 6 months, consistency for 9 months, consistency for 12 months, and beyond is what most people lack and why most who attempt to market online get frustrated and quit. 2.Creativity When I hear the word “creative” I think of fancy web pages, elaborate product offerings, and great writing skills. And while these things can help, it is not the “creativity” that you need to succeed. In fact, the creativity that is needed is simply the ability to think like the person on the other end of the web browser. What are they searching for? Can you tie what you have to their search? Do you have something that can help them? What message do they need to see or hear to want to be on your list, to buy your product, or enroll in your business? None of this has to be fancy or difficult. It simply takes some, and pardon the cliché, “thinking outside of the box” time and coming up with a plan to get your message found and read. 3.Caution There are two types of marketing web pages out there on the Internet: Good ones and bad ones. The bad ones contain a lot of information. There is no mystery to the product, the offering, the business, or the message. It is out there for the world to see. The good ones, however, exercise caution with their message. They give some information but not enough for someone to make an informed decision. Instead they give just enough information to interest the individual the message is targeting. In return, the individual subscribes or willingly gives information in order to get the rest of the story. So there are the three “C's” of successfully marketing a home based business on the Internet. Using them could be the difference between frustration and results.
