Understanding Branding in Business

Submitted by kitkat

When you promote a business, you are promoting more than your product or service. You are promoting your brand as well. In essence, brand is what you see or hear that will instantly tell people of the product or business the brand represents. For example, when people hear M&M's, they instantly think of chocolate. When they hear Coca-Cola, they think of their favorite soda. In short, brand is something that symbolizes the image and emotion you want to communicate to your customers.

It is important that your brand is well represented in the business industry. From one look or hear of your name, people should already imagine your business or product. When they see your name in your marketing materials such as your calendar printing
or business cards, they should immediately think of you.

Buying people's emotion

Marketing is actually more about buying emotion. When people buy a car, they decide on what their emotions tell them. First on what they see, and second on what they feel in driving it. When they buy a drink, they decide based on the packaging they see. Everything is about emotion. If you can touch on your prospect's emotion, you can be sure that they will buy from your business.

Presentation is important

How you look in front of people matter a lot in giving yourself a good image. This is the same in business. If you make your marketing materials present your business well, you can be sure that people will look at you. They will take time to look and listen to what you want to tell them. From the colors you use to the logo and paper you use in your materials, everything has to be chosen carefully. How you look will make you different from your competitions. You need to also handle yourself well so you can be sure people will take you seriously.

Create a lasting impression

Branding is more than how you look and present your marketing materials. It is also about making their buying experience happy. Attend to all the needs of your customers. Give them discounts or free items. Call them to check how they are doing or to tell them the latest happenings in your business. Your customers have to feel special so they will feel connected to you. If you can do this, you can be sure to create good branding based on people's emotion. If you can give your customers good service, you can feel confident that they will patronize your brand.

Value for money spent

People pay for things they are emotionally attached to. As much as possible, they want to get the best value for their money. Price is not actually a factor. What people want is to get the worth of the money they are paying for. When you are making your marketing materials such as your calendars, make sure that you present the benefits of your offerings in them. This will help convince your prospects that they will get the best value from your offerings.
