Washing And Waxing Done The Right Way.Submitted by wtsheff Wed, 26 Aug 2009
If you want your car to last a long time without rust spots, you should try waxing your car regularly. If you wax your car regularly than your paint will have a very long life, your car won\'t rust as quickly, your car will look shinier, and you\'ll impress everyone when you drive down the road!
To take good care of your car, you should wax it every three to five months. This ensures that your car stays shiny and rain water doesn\'t affect the paint or metal parts of your car body. Waxing your car regularly seals the paint, covers small scratches and imperfections so they aren\'t as visible, and keeps water away from the body of your car. If you see that the rain water doesn\'t bead on the surface of your car, it\'s time to wax your car again. If you want to take good care of your car, you can either take it to an auto detailer or your local dealership and buy one of the packages they have. They will clean your car from the inside out and use a buffer that will leave your car very clean and waxed. If you\'re looking to spend a little less money, you can also wax your car yourself. This usually takes about half an hour and you can pick up a good brand of wax at your local hardware store. You\'ll want to buy a nonabrasive wax so it doesn\'t damage the surface of your car. To wax your car yourself, make sure your car is completely clean and dry. You\'ll want to find a shady place or a garage as well, as the wax works best when your car is cool to touch. Take a damp wax sponge and apply the wax in a circular motion to the surface of your car, avoiding any rubber details such as door handles and window trimmings. You\'ll also want to avoid seams so the wax doesn\'t build up in them. After you\'ve applied the wax, use a soft, clean towel to remove the wax and polish your car. Make sure you get all the wax off, as the wax can bake into your car in the sun. After you\'ve removed all the wax and polished your car, you can enjoy your shiny, good looking car for months to come, until it\'s time to wax your car again!
