What is pressure treated timber?

About 70 years back a man named dr. karl wolman created the effective process of infusing preservative deeply into wood products. Because of the invention a new industry a come about. From using rebar and pressure treated lumber a contractor will be able to develop immense solid structures.

Pressure treating uses chemicals to place inside deeply into the wood. A wood product will be placed in an air tight tank and the air is completely removed. A tank is filled with preservatives under an extreme pressure that forces them into the wood. The tank with the pressure treated lumber is emptied and then reused. The next step is preparing thelumber for the shipyard. This happens to be how pressure treated lumber process works.

This process of treatment creates a barrier to keep vermon, insects off the wood. This creates a great use for the "http://www.usexportdirect.com">wholesale wall timber companies.

There are four levels for pressure treatment for pressure treated lumber, regardless of the chemical used as a preservative. Below are the common and suggestive rating:
0.25 Above ground
0.40 Ground contact
0.60 Wood foundation that is permanent
2.50 Salt water environment

You can discover if the board is pressure treated by looking for the tag or white ink wiritng on the board of the numbers above. Since climates differ you shouldn't need be concernced with thses numbers as the lumber yard will be. Lastly tell your salesman the number of pressure treatment.. below, above, or on so you can get the best for your project!

Building materials and supplies are important part of any building project. Research for overstock building suppliers and wholesale suppliers to get pricing and rates for your next prject.
