So you want to level up your mining fast and start earning lots of gold?

I know how that feels - I was really struggling with it too. But then I discovered these three easy steps to make those levels fly by, and I'll share them with you today.

So, the first step is to become a miner. Pretty simple, right? But I don't just mean going to the trainer and getting the profession. Mining is all about finding nodes and mining them. Sure, you could just buy all your ore and smelt it, but why spend all that gold when it's so easy to just farm the ore?

So the fastest way to acquire ore is to know where it is, right? So what you absolutely have to do is download an addon called Gatherer. This will save you so much time, it's unbelievable. What this does is, it will show you all the mining nodes that other people have gathered from and display them on your map. Without this, you'll be ambling aimlessly over Azeroth, hoping to stumble across nodes, which is going to waste a lot of your time. So get Gatherer and you'll be set!

So now all you need to do is gather your ore! Yes, it will take time. But, it's like having an investment and watching it mature over time. You invest your time now, and the reward will be plentiful. So sink a few hours into mining ore. Throw on a movie or some music, get drunk - whatever works for you. Now, you can gain levels in mining through mining AND smelting, so remember you don't have to do it all through mining alone.

Once you've got a nice stack of ore (and I recommended getting a mining bag and emptying your other ones out whilst gathering), smelt it! After a while you should have lots of stacks of gleaming bars in your bag, all ready for the auction house. Now, mining supplies THREE crafting professions, so there's always going to be a lot of demand for your bars. But don't get greedy. Sell them for a reasonable price, and people will keep coming back. Check out the auction house, see what the going rate is and undercut it a little bit. I recommend grabbing the Auctioneer addon to see when the prices are lower than usual, so you can avoid selling at those times.
