How Much Money Will You Have To Spend on Used Video Games?

Submitted by JJGames

By definition, it seems, used video games are cheaper than the new ones sitting on the shelves at the store. This is doubly true when you are buying games for used and older consoles.

You know that these games are going to be cheaper, but how much cheaper? How much money will you have to spend on used video games? Imagine you went online with some cash, how many games would you be able to buy?

The amount you will spend varies based on the type of system you want to buy games for. If you want a popular game on a relatively new system, then you will be spending more.

If you are looking at a used Super Nintendo system with some of the classic games like Super Mario and Donkey Kong, then you are going to be paying a lot more (up to $35). But those games are at the very peak of demand. Most other games will be just a few dollars for the Super Nintendo system.

When it comes to the Nintendo 64, there will be many cheap games but, like the Super Nintendo, the classic Mario games, like Mario Kart 64, will be higher priced. There are so many titles available for the Nintendo 64 that you can build up a solid collection for not a lot of money.

The Gamecube system has games that cost a bit more than others, including some of the popular Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog series, but the used games are still below the cost of a new game and a majority of the games for the whole Gamecube system remain very inexpensive.

The availability of used games also extends to the Gameboy Advance titles, which can also be scooped up for under 20 dollars, where games like Simpson’s Road Rage and others top out.

In order to really make help your budget through bargain shopping, you need to consider the Sega Genesis. If you had 20 dollars, you could get about six games for the Sega Genesis, including some cool movie tie-in games.

No matter what, the age of the game and the console you are looking for are going to set the price you pay for used games. Keep a look out for the classic collectible games that demand a higher price.

Many of these game titles are as low-priced as they will ever be, so watch as your money is able to go far when you decide to buy them.
