Puzzles are always fun and still continues to be fun even today because they always do provide a solid mental challenge to those looking to participate in a game that can provide a tricky alternative to some of the more dull alternatives to game playing such as incessantly watching television and probably that is why they have never lost their popularity no matter how much society advances technologically. One of the reliable reasons cited for their never-ending popularity is that they are built around themes that are common and familiar to the players.
There are many, who would prefer to play arcade or role-playing games, but there are also people who look for logical and witty games and fortunately there are logical games on the web today that aims to provide mental refreshment. Boggle is such online word game designed by Allan Turoff and trademarked by Parker Brothers and Hasbro with similar aim. It is a word game played between two or more players and points are earned for finding words in a 4x4 grid of letters. Boggle has proven itself to be very addictive and starts by randomly displaying 16 letter cubes, arranged in a 4x4 grid.

Playing this game will enable you to determine how fast your brain work in making a meaningful words scrabbling letters from the from a mess of jumbled letters within a stipulated time. Length of the word is not important but what matters most is anagramming words from a mess of jumbled letters within three minutes. Words are formed from letters that adjoin horizontally, vertically or diagonally to the immediate left, right, or up-and-down following certain limitations and that is no letter can be employed more than once within a single word. The winner is the player who earns the most points after a predetermined number of rounds or when a predetermined score has been reached.

Unlike Scrabble where the length of the vocabulary is also important Boggle is easy going. So this disadvantage of Scrabble is resolved in Boggle. There are other factors that is making more popular than Scrabble. Scrabble is decision game. It persuades the player to decide on what word to play. You will also find that often your highest scoring play in Scrabble is not your best play, especially if it leaves you with an undesirable combination of letters in your rack, or opens up a potential higher scoring play for your opponent but you will often find your second highest scoring play is your best but this not the case with Boggle. No matter how long you stare at the grid, another players have always found a word that you were unable to locate. This makes Boggle playable for almost any group.
