Ratchet and Clank PS3 Guide

It's been almost five years since Ratchet & Clank debuted on the PS2, and already it's been one of the enduring games in the industry. The pair of Ratchet (a strange animal creature called a Lombax) and Clank (his dependable sidekick robot) has experienced immense success for Sony on every platform it has been on, save only for its fourth release on 2005 where fans were disappointed because they felt Insomniac Games (the developers) dwelt too much on the game's winning formula. With its more varied gameplay as compared to Crash Bandicoot, fans are full of anticipation for the game series' debut on the Playstation 3.

Still using the same proven and reliable approach that was used on previous versions, Ratchet & Clank Future on the PS3 is everything that fans can expect from the game, only now it promises to be even better. Therefore, gamers are sure to expect the same old fun they had with past Ratchet & Clank adventures. And joining him is his trusted companion robot, Clank, as they go on an adventure to find out how Ratchet ended up becoming the lone survivor of his race. With their tandem, you are sure to expect some crazy destruction along the way. You can expect to be treated to some crazy antics of these two as they've always been known for in the past.

To give this new Ratchet & Clank adventure an improved look, developer Insomniac have given the game engine a total makeover. If you play the game, it will probably become apparent to your right away that the developers have modified the game so that players can make full use of the new Sixaxis controller. Not wanting to settle only for the touch-sensitive feature of the controller, Insomniac went beyond extremes in making use of every angle as much as they can. Now, aside from controlling the buttons, you can jerk the controller to direct you. It is only a slight change in the feature but it can do wonders in the game.

To help Ratchet fulfill his mission objectives, he has got a bounty supply of weapons at his disposal. Probably one of the most liked features of the Ratchet & Clank series is its guns, they also earned a major boost for this Ratchet & Clank Future. With some new essential features that will make your character even deadlier, the new enhanced features are everything you could have hoped for. These new alterations have just helped make the game even more playable and fun.

As the PS3 version of the new Ratchet & Clank is hinted to be more of an updated version of the PS2 game, instead of being a brand new game altogether, many expect the graphical quality of this game to be much improved as well. Well, no need to worry about that as you will be treated to not only a gameplay breakthrough, but a visual spectacle as well. The animation is very fluid and sharp. Whatever it is that can be said about this new Ratchet & Clank, one thing is for sure and that is it is indeed graphically superior. Also, there's been rumors spreading around that this isn't really an entirely new game but an refurnished version of the PS2 game. We'll get to see that once it's officially released. Pretty promising, huh?

One thing that should be owed for Ratchet & Clank's success is its sticking to the formula that has endeared many of its fans. Aside from that, it has also been added with some new gameplay elements with a next-gen polish.
