So Why Do Folks Like Zombie Movies and Video games So Much?

Submitted by verkernrke

There has been a recent flood of zombie videos and zombie game titles in today's pop culture, legendary tales displaying everything from dark comedy to horror to physical humor. Generating zombie games or films seems to be the failsafe plan that film makers and developers use as a last result when they are clean out of different ideas. Also it generally seems to Work perfectly all the time.

What precisely could it be that's so awesome about zombies? So why do we feast on each zombie production that comes out? What is it concerning the walking dead that's contaminated our minds and culture a great deal so that individuals can't seem to get enough of them?

Part of it may be the frightening element. We all love being scared a bit, and what's scarier than our close friends and loved ones becoming mindless cannibals and attempting to eat us? - Besides, of course, us being bitten and turning in to one of them ourselves.

Portion of our captivation with zombies may be the disgusting factor. We're morbidly curious to find out what kind of revolting things these ex--humans are going to think of next. We privately, or at times not too secretly, love to see glimpses of rotting flesh, open wounds, and oozing blood.

Yet another piece of the zombie success saga might be credited to our inherent paranoia. If everyone else could be a zombie, that may very well leave us without having someone to rely on. And now we truly realize simply how much we love trusting nobody. Zombie films and video games contribute to our me-against-the-world fantasies

But each one of these mental jewels only reveal part of the explanation for the wild popularity of the zombie category. The true reason is much more personal and much more self-indulgent. So far as a lot of us are concerned, the walking dead can go to hell. We're actually more keen on the end of the world itself and, more particularly, being a portion of the few leftover survivors.

Apocalypses are gloomy events, no one will question that. But zombie apocalypses are not just a number of the least harsh, they even have a certain attraction that fascinates and compels us. Whereas in other end of days scenarios, the world and every thing inside it gets destroyed, in a zombie end of days scenarios, the only thing conveniently removed from the picture is the vast majority of other folks. This might involve just a few we didn't want and a few we cared about, but largely the millions and billions that we've never met, don't know, and don't really care for in any case.

All of the necessary pillars of modern life of today are still available. There exists lots of food, guns galore, transportation, and liquor. Every thing we've ever needed is simply sitting around ready for people to grab it. Long lasting implications be darned - if we are able to merely avoid becoming contaminated, we shall live the rest of our existence like kings. The girls of our desires will find us a lot more adorable if virtually everybody else on the planet is in different levels of decay.

A zombie apocalypse involves no judging deities, no ancient prophecies, no disastrous meteors, merely us and our wits against the entire world. Which is an apocalypse that very few will want to pass-up.
