Controller's longevity will depend on the proper care and maintenance of the users. Some controllers, if not handled properly, will only last for just six months. Although controllers are well protected, they can still be damaged by any kind of abuse by the users. Some of the common causes of damaged controllers are listed below.

1. Unlocked controller's doors. Damages can be caused by water sprays when the door is open. Also, there are severe dust and soil build-ups on the circuit board that can happen.

2. Controllers are placed near any vibrating machines.

3. Spraying different kinds of lubricants

Those are some of the reasons why controllers are easily damaged. Always remember that controllers are like personal computers; they are microprocessor driven devices. They definitely need proper care and maintenance so you can use them for a longer time. Listed here are some suggestions on the proper care and maintenance of discount controllers.

1. Always keep the controller's door closed to prevent it from getting dirt and grime that could affect the circuit board.

2. Never use lubricants to clean the controller because it can gum up everything inside. Most controllers found in repair shops were damaged because of lubricants. When cleaning controllers, just open the panel and wipe with dry cloth and alcohol all dirt, spider webs and dusts. Always clean the sensor of the controller. The sensor is very sensitive to dirt since this component sends signal to the console.

3. Always remove the batteries when you are not using the controller or after your gaming session. By doing so, you can save the controller's battery life and also your money.

4. Controllers must be placed in a safe area.

5. Keep the controllers out of the way; never leave them on floors to avoid damaging it accidentally and getting hurt in the process.

6. Examine how you use the controller. Do not use jerky motions when you are playing. These could keep the controller in your hands. Some controllers are equipped with wrist straps. Do not mash the buttons, too.

7. Do not place your controller near vibrating machines such as diesel engine pumps.

Take extra care of your controllers. It will save you money and will give you a longer time playing your games.
