It is generally agreed by many gamers and critics alike that Bioshock is an example of the best First Person Shooters developed in the past decade. It holds a typical critic score of 96% at Metacritic.com, and some forums even describe the game as a work of art. Bioshock's storyline is in various ways based on and provoked by the top selling novel "Atlas Shrugged", and revolves round the geopolitical events occurring in an oceanic Atlantis-like metropolis called Rapture.

Following a deviation from the first game, the Bioshock 2 game will put you in control of the slow and lumbering Big Daddy. As gamers of the first game will understand, Rapture was set up with the idea of creating a society freed from capitalistic government laws and religious moralities, but naturally, it then went significantly pear-shaped. As Bioshock character Jack discovered, mutated and disgusting creatures called Splicers were at large in the district, rambling and slaying at will. These monsters were fundamentally all that was leftof the community.

In the Bioshock 2 game, Big Daddy has the dangerous task of re-entering to Rapture, looking into a sequence of abductions. It appears the multitude of Little Sisters that succeeded in making it to the surface in the first game are being robbed away and returned to the shadows of Rapture, and it's up to Big Daddy to save the day.

The Bioshock 2 game runs the basics and quirks of the original, with a few notable twists on the content. Graphical improvements are also present, with the game functioning a lot more smoothlysmoother, allowing for a perfect show of graphics. This adds to the feel of a great game, and producers 2K have done it with aplomb.

Being in charge of a robot does allow numerous gaming benefits, he is able to combine a multitude of drills and guns in one hand, while using the arcane 'plasmid' with the other hand. Plasmid is employed to create fire, electricity and also to control objects by telekinesis. These skills are improved duringthe game and levelled up as you progress.

Plenty of effort and care has been applied in the Bioshock 2 game. There are some updated locales in Rapture, it's now feasible to investigate the sea floor and investigate the secrets within the dome of the metropolis. A draw back with the first was that the array of enemies was somehat limited and incessant, and this has been fixed in the follow up with a selection of new creatures. Watch out for Big Sister, who haunts your quest and will try and impede you at varied junctures. 2K Games are hoping for a release this Autumn, and for all devotees of the first, the Bioshock 2 game is being released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows platforms and cannot come fast enough for fans of Bioshock.
