Searching a CAD drafting service provider can be an uphill task. What to look for in a service provider? Below are some of the many characteristics a CAD service provider should have.
1. The CAD professional should be technically skilled. The drafter should be proficient with CAD
2. They should understand your language well so that it's easy for both the parties to communicate. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must
3. They should have a sound knowledge of CAD and its related tools/software
4. They should have a strong client base
In addition to the above mentioned points there are some crosschecks which have to be implemented at the service provider's end. The person drafting the drawing is responsible for the quality of any work done by them. Once a drawing is completed, a drafter is required to spend some amount of time in checking it and correcting/adding any missed details. Each drawings before submission to the client is certified by the supervisor to be accurate.
Quality checks to be followed
1. Checking that all drawings, details are drawn correctly
2. Spelling check and proof reading.
3. Ensuring drawings have been drawn to the correct dimension.
4. Layering standards - checking that various elements in the drawings have been put on the appropriate layers.
5. Delivery
The completed electronic files can then be sent to the client by any of the following methods:
• Email
• CD or DVD -Copied onto compact disk or DVD
