Outlook Express Recovery - Microsoft Outlook Express is a popular email client, which comes with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Windows. It stores your critical emails, contacts and other data in DBX files. All of these files are manage and controlled by a master index, known as Folders.dbx. But in some situations, your Outlook Express folders may become invisible and inaccessible and the stored data may not be used. Such situation might lead to data loss and you require Outlook Express Recovery to sort it out.

In a practical scenario, when you start Microsoft Outlook Express, some of your special folders, default folders (such as Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts and so forth) or personal subfolders, which you have created, might be missing from Local Folders list. All these folders were previously visible.

Root of the issue:

You may encounter this behavior of Microsoft Outlook Express if the Folders.dbx file is missing, corrupt or damaged. It might require Outlook Express Repair to be resolved.

1-Folders.dbx is the main index of Outlook Express store folder and this is required for Outlook Express to run. This file contains the nesting (tree structure) of all mail folders, lists of newsgroups on every new account and synchronization options for Hotmail folders and subscribed newsgroups.

When the Folders.dbx file becomes corrupt, the Outlook Express generally stops showing the folders for existing DBX files and in some cases simply refuses to start. In some situations, the DBX files may also get damaged due to corrupted master index.

How to resolve Folders.dbx file corruption issues

In order to sort out this issue, rename Folders.dbx file for impacted identity and restart Outlook Express. It allows Microsoft Outlook Express to reconstruct a new Folders.dbx file.

This method will help you to resolve the current issue of invisibility of DBX folders, but it can not repair damaged DBX files. In order to repair and restore DBX files and retrieve data from then, you need to opt for Outlook Express Recovery software.

These are advanced third party tools, which perform thorough scan of your hard drive and retrieve all of the DBX file objects. These applications are quite easy to use and thus do not require sound and prior technical skills to achieve absolute Outlook Express Repair. With non-destructive conduct, these software do not alter the original contents of DBX file.

Stellar Phoenix Outlook Express Recovery is the most comprehensive and effective tool to recover data from DBX files. This software works well with Microsoft Outlook Express 6.0, 5.5, 5.01 and 5.0.
