How to enjoy your favorite movies anywhere anytime

If you are a fan of movies, you may understand the great feeling of being able to enjoy your favorite movies anytime and anywhere. As a fan of movies, you probably have a big collection of favorite DVDs; wouldn't it be great to have them with you at all times, especially when you travel? If the HDD in your laptop is huge, you could simply move the collection onto your laptop. Even if the HDD is not very big, you can still move some of the DVDs onto the laptop to enjoy during a trip or a holiday, for example. The following will show you how to move your favorite DVDs onto your laptop.

Step 1: Choose some DVDs (or all) from your collection. You can move all the collection into your laptop, as long as the HDD has enough room. However, moving all the DVDs will take you a very long time. So my advice is that you should move just some of them at any one time. If the HDD is not very large, just move some of the DVDs onto it to enjoy during a trip or a holiday, for example.

Step 2: Use a converter software program to convert the DVDs. Of course you can copy all the DVDs, but this will definitely cost you a lot of disk space. Also you may find it hard to manage all the files if you copy them directly from the DVDs (so many fragmented files). If instead you convert the DVDs one by one, the output will be reduced in both the size and number of files, which will help you to easily manage all the movies on your laptop and save you more disk space.

Step 3: Choose the format and the quality for the converted movie files. You can choose from many video formats such as AVI, MPEG, MP4, etc. Every converter program supports most of the popular formats for your choice, but not every program supports all of them. Click here to learn more about the popularity of the video formats. The quality of the output file is largely dependent upon the video compression methods used, and you can learn more about the compression methods, video quality, and formats here.

Step 4: Decide where to store the movies in the HDD. You should create a set of folders for storing the movies. Create a folder called "MOVIES" and then create sub-folders to store them in; perhaps by category, such as "Action", "Comedy", etc. or by years, or by actors. This will help you to easily manage your movies as well another data because they are in separated areas. If you know how to re-partition a hard drive, you could create a new partition to store the movies in, but remember to be sure that you know what you are doing before you try, as the partitioning process can destroy data.

You can try AV Video Morpher for converting the DVDs. This all-in-one video program can help you play, convert, dub movies, and more. This program provides you with the most important two tools for saving DVDs and enjoying them right in your laptop: DVD Converter and Movie Player. The Movie Player, with Multi-format Playback, plays movies in AVI, WMV, MPG, MPEG, ASF, M2V, MP2, M2P, MOV, RAM, RM, DAT, etc. So there is no need for you to worry about choosing or using any video format from now on. The DVD Converter can convert a whole video, or just selected video clips into AVI or WMV format. Your collection of video clips will grow with every conversion. See this helpful Converting DVD to AVI Guide to learn more about converting DVDs into multi-formats with AV Video Morpher. Then you will be able to enjoy your favorite movies anywhere anytime, just remember to bring your laptop!
