What is SO DIMM? - How to Remove and Install SODIMM

SO DIMM is also called the "Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module". These are IC's particularly intended for the use w/ small computers such as routers and laptops, and have digital circuitry that provides the similar output for a lesser space, but normally utilizes more power than their larger brethren. SODIMM's are normally found in RAM's for use in laptops, and are intended to fit into a lot of laptop models w/out any alteration. They're found in Nano-ITX and Mini-ITX PC's machines that are silent and tiny.
To set up SODIMM memory, the requirements are similar as those utilized for any other PC hardware set up. An ESD or Electro Static Discharge avoiding wrist strap is often advised as this safely protects you and your hand's electric discharge so as to not harm the fragile electronics utilized inside the PC or the SODIMM. These Electro Static Discharge wrist straps are seen at any hardware store and are so cheap.
The second requirement is to know the whole thing that there is about the SODIMM and the equipment you're going to put it in. If they are not compatible, then you will finish damaging the costly devices and equipments both. Thus a fast run over the manual is suggested for all those attempting to set up a SODIMM to a laptop or some device. A screw driver is required as well if the storage area is secured by a screw.
• Turn off the power of the device! Setting up the memory while the PC is turned on isn't recommended.
• Open the cover of the memory panel after removing the screws of the joint.
• Line up the socket of the SODIMM with the input of the space.
• At slight angles around 30 degrees, slowly slide in the SODIMM.
• Apply pressure from both parts till a soft tick is heard.
• Put the leaning ends of the SODIMM firmly to their sockets.
• The SODIMM has already been installed!
To detach the SODIMM, a similar procedure is utilized:

• Remove the screws and open up the modular space's flap.
• The end of the SODIMM is raised off its sockets so that the input and the socket in the end are free.
• Slowly slide the SODIMM out of the module.
• The SODIMM has been detached!
This is the common way of removing and installing SODIMM's and is a safe and effective way of doing so.
