Free Satellite TV

Submitted by digitaldish

You hear the phrase "free satellite TV" alot lately. Some people think it means stealing satellite signals from one of the satellite providers. Others think it must mean that the programming offered is free. While still others just aren't sure at all what "free satellite TV" means. This article will explain exactly what both DISH Network and DIRECTV mean when they refer to their free satellite TV offers.

Free Satellite Equipment

Both DIRECTV and DISH Network have promotions that offer free satellite TV equipment
to first time DIRECTV or DISH subscribers. This means that you get free use of the equipment so long as you remain either a DIRECTV or DISH Network customer in good standing. Both satellite giants make this offer for up to 4 TV's. So the satellite dish, satellite receivers (black boxes) and TV remotes are free. You
don't have to go out and purchase. Now both companies have been offering free satellite equipment for so long now that especially younger generation Americans may well take this offer for granted. But if the younger folks were to ask their parents about the early days of commercial satellite back in the early 1990's;
they would find out that you had to actually buy this huge satellite dish that would sit in your back yard. You had to buy the receiver also. Early satellite dishes were huge affairs and they cost several thousands of dollars. So most people couldn't afford to purchase them. So they went without satellite TV and it's crystal clear picture. Today the cost of the dish and receivers have come way down; but you still save a few hundred dollars by signing up with DISH Network and getting the equipment at no cost.

Free Satellite System Installation

You've taken that first step and ordered your brand new DISH Network satellite system, replete with a satellite mini dish, receiver/receivers, remotes and cables. But now what? Some independent satellite installers charge as high as $250.00 to install a dish and get your satellite TV system up and running. That's alot of money for most people. For all new Dish Network subscribers, DISH will actually install your entire satellite system for FREE! And the job will be done properly and professionally. Installation usually happens within a few days of placing your order and once the DISH installer is done, he will program your televisions, show you how to operate the system and answer any questions that you may have.

Dish Network's Standard Installation includes:

Site survey (at time of installation), assembly of dishes and mount, grounding of system components, system peaking for optimum performance, installation of up to 120' RG-6 cable, one wall cable penetration, testing of equipment for proper operation and orientation to DISH Network programming and equipment

Materials Provided At No Charge:

Up to 120' RG-6 cable, coaxial cable connectors, grounding equipment and weather sealant for connections and structure penetration.

Also, with Dish Network, activating your new satellite service is free. Most cable companies charge an 'activation fee'. And with Dish Network if you want to upgrade to either a DVR or HD receiver, the upgrade is free after the rebate. Cable TV companies charge you extra for upgrading to either DVR or HD receivers. So while you will have to pay a small monthly bill for your satellite programming channels; by signing up with Dish Network, you will save hundreds of dollars and sit back and relax as a professional DISH installer does the work of installing your brand new satellite system for you.
