Atlantic City remains one of the most popular vacation destinations on the east coast. Of course, the main appeal for visiting Atlantic City is the vibrant gaming community. Yes, there are many tremendous casinos to choose from making “AC” a true gambler’s paradise. However, it would be incorrect to assume that gambling is the only activity of interest in the city. Actually, there are hosts of other things you can do for fun when visiting. Here are a few of the more popular ones.

Anyone who has played the classic board game Monopoly is familiar with many of the famous landmarks in Atlantic City. Avid players know the most lucrative spot to land on is the Boardwalk. There is a good reason for this: the famous Boardwalk of Atlantic City has many things the whole family will enjoy. There are games, rides, and plenty of food to partake in. And, of course, there is a great view of the ocean.

The beach is great to visit as well. The blue ocean and white sand are great for summertime fun. You can sunbathe, swim, surf, or just soak in the environment. The beaches of Atlantic City are among the nicest in New Jersey and anyone who loves the water will enjoy their vacation here.

The Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum is great for curiosity seekers. Yes, there are other Ripley’s museums in the US. (There is one in Hollywood as well) But, the museum in Atlantic City is among the best and it can be a fun and wondrous excursion.

The Atlantic City Aquarium. Since you are near the ocean, you will probably have a desire to check out displays and exhibitions of the sea life. The aquarium in this city is one of the most spectacular in the world. Visiting it will leave many great memories.

Fine shopping and dining is available in abundance. A few short years ago, a major renovation of the area surrounding the casinos was undertaken. The renovations have led to the development of many top of the line family friendly shops and restaurants. And, best of all, they are within a short walking distance of the major hotels.

The Absecon Lighthouse. There are many lighthouses in the world but few are as impressive as the Absecon Lighthouse. This lighthouse is the tallest in Atlantic City and the view from the top is quite spectacular. Additionally, the lighthouse is home to many other events and activities such as art exhibitions, wine tasting, and numerous seasonal holiday events through the year.

The Steel Pier. Now, what would Atlantic City be without all the amazing amusement rides? If these rides are you passion visiting Steel Pier is the best destination to visit since it is home to the top attractions in the city.

There will never be a shortage of things to do when you visit Atlantic City. The above is only a brief list. However, visiting the items listed herein is a great place to start.
