Bingo with a Difference in Chicago

A new bingo initiative in the United States city of Chicago has recently been launched. It offers a different kind of bingo experience, although it is still being run in a bingo hall type setting -at the Hideout, a popular entertainment venue in the northern city. Entitled Veggie Bingo, the scheme is designed to bring bingo together with food, and promote a healthy lifestyle and a vegetarian diet. It is also hoped that it will educate those attending about the benefits of local produce, and supporting local agriculture.

The Veggie free bingo event will be held every week at the Hideout, starting on the thirtieth of September. It will then run for the foreseeable future. The Hideout has hosted some events like this before, most particularly last year when it held a Bread and Soup Bingo weekly event. The Bread and Soup Bingo evenings were extremely popular, and this is why organisers have decided to run the Veggie Bingo event now too. Veggie Bingo will run between six and o'clock in the evening every Wednesday from the thirtieth of the month.

The game is played just like a regular game of bingo would be. Tickets cost one dollar each, or can be bought in bulks of six, which will cost players five dollars. Players will have the chance to win various types of food that have been grown locally, all of which will be vegetarian, as well as other things that will demonstrate the wealth of local produce that is available from in and around Chicago. Prizes that have already been revealed include jars of locally sourced honey, and various different types of soap, from a local retailer. Vegetarian food will be served to players during the evening, including tofu.
In keeping with the ethical slant of the event, all the proceeds will go to charity. The charity that is being chosen is NeighborSpace, an American charity that helps in local communities.
