Gala Bingo club are all winners as woman scoops £145k jackpot

Lady luck was really shining down on the Gala Bingo club in Colchester this week as a lucky lady managed to scoop more than £145,000 at her local bingo club - and left the whole club better off too!
The lucky winner managed not only to win the massive jackpot, but her win also triggered a payout of £125,000 which was shared between all of the players in the club at the time so all 248 players walked away with just over £500 each.

The lucky winner, who remains anonymous, won the £10,000 house jackpot plus a whopping £135,000 in the High Five game, which sees all the Gala Bingo clubs linked up and playing simultaneously in the big money game.

She said: "I'm absolutely ecstatic. It hasn't sunk in yet. I'm going to spend the money on home improvements and a holiday.

"My friend and I have played bingo together at Gala Colchester for 14 years. We've always dreamed of winning the big one and we always said that we'd split it between us.

"We were so pleased we called on number five and got to share the jackpot with the rest of the club."
The Colchester bingo club's manager, Steve Riley, said: "We're absolutely thrilled for her. Someone from another club called ‘house' at the same time, so we thought the jackpot would be split two ways, but that turned out to be a false call.

"Everyone was so shocked - the players were all looking round in disbelief while the news sunk in.

"It took a while for everyone to calm down after that. The atmosphere was electric. All the players were thanking the winner for helping them win £504 each!"

We bet that all the players are feeling very lucky with their winnings and although it's fantastic to win a whopping £135,000, no doubt all the players were feeling just as lucky with their £500 which is by no means a small amount of cash.

Although we're used to big online jackpots it's always nice to see the traditional world of bingo clubs still running and making plenty of bingo lovers happy too!
