Online Bingo Industry Vs the RecessionSubmitted by waitetom Tue, 30 Jun 2009
Some refer to it as the 'R' word, others simply call it the down turn. There's no doubting that the recession has given every business in the UK a great shaking.
Whilst for the many business's the credit crunch has meant money loss, spending cuts and even bankruptcy, some have seen the down turn as an opportunity. The online bingo industry fits as a great example. It's bizarre to think that as people have being running out of money and cutting back on general spending, the amount they're gambling has risen. Perhaps it's clutching at straws or maybe it's for entertainment which does not involve having to leave the house. We're not sure but the spending certainly is on the up. Catching on to this increase in revenue we've seen a number of ingenious campaigns designed to take advantage of the credit crunch. New creatives have been flying into the affiliate marketing areas and they've spread across the net like wild fire. Some of the most innovative creatives advertise campaigns such as 'Get your Bills Paid for the Year', a campaign which we've seen many online bingo companies use. Perhaps even more enticing, Wink Bingo have been offering their players the chance to get their groceries and petrol bills paid for one year at Tescos. Harry's Bingo has been offering a similar deal involving ASDA. These campaigns have significantly improved conversions. And many webmasters are reporting positive impacts. Anyone involved in the Bingo market will have noticed a boom in the amount of Free Bingo sites which have sprung onto the web in an effort to make people play online bingo. Even though there are only a few sites which offer genuinely free bingo nearly every site has incorporated the word 'Free' into their creatives or onto their homepages. It seems to be the case more than ever that the word 'free' is capable of grabbing attention. All in all, whilst other industries are flapping and panicking it seems that Bingo as an entity is sitting safe and even profiting from what one would assume could only be bad times. About the Author
