If it were not for myths, our life would not be so thrilling. When it comes to the casino world, it has myths of its own kind. While myths can be entertaining to some, they can be very dangerous to those who are misguided and enslaved by them. The functioning of online slot machines and their relation to Random Number Generators is not known by many players leading to various myths about slots. Here are some common myths which leave people wondering over what should and should not be done when dealing with online slot machines.

Myth1: Someone hit a jackpot on the machine after you played on it….if you had played longer maybe you would have won. -
This is a common issue of concern by players but it is just a myth mostly due to the fact that all combinations and winning calculations are based on RNG. Each press of ‘play' at a particular moment and the RNG immediately picks a particular combination. So if a player is expecting to generate the same ‘supposedly' lucky combination then he is bluffing himself. The player who wins is because of luck.

Myth2: Casinos can change Percentage Payouts-
This is completely false. online slot machines work on pre-programmed computer programs that generate winning combinations randomly therefore deciding payout percentages. In order for a casino to change the payout they would need to do more than just change numbers. Despite this being a myth there are rules and regulations set by online gaming regulators to prevent this.

Myth3: Counting the symbols on each wheel will give you the odds -
The RNG is programmed in such a way that numbers are generated with every spin. There are likely to be hundreds of Virtual stops on each reel even though you see only a few symbols. Since online slot machines are able to generate millions of combinations they can offer such large payouts as the chances of hitting jackpots are very small.

Myth4: online slot machines that have not paid out for a long time means its time for the jackpot -
Since every spin on the slot machine is random and precedes a random spin, this myth can remain a myth. How long the machine has been playing has no effect on its payout. An online slot machine can go months or years without paying its top jackpot. It maintains the programmed payoff percentage simply by paying smaller wins.
