Roulette is a game of chance. It is easy to learn as no skill is required to win in roulette. However, to play the game with confidence and place bets wisely one should be well-versed with the rules of the game. The rules will also help in better understanding of the game.

In Live TV Roulette, many more than eight players can participate in one game. The players do not compete against each other. Different colored chips are given to different players before the game begins. On winning, the players exchange these chips for cash chips.

The European Roulette table is generally used in Live TV Roulette. The European roulette table consists of 36 numbered pockets, from 0 to 35. However, the numbers are not in ascending order. These pockets are seen in two different colors, usually red and black. There are various ways of placing bets in Live TV Roulette. One can place bets on a specific number according to the En Plein rule. Cheval signifies placing the bet on two numbers; Transversale signifies placing the bet on three numbers while Carre means placing bets on four numbers. If the ball lands on any of the three or four numbers, the player wins.

Bets can be placed on colors, called Noir ou Rouge and even or odd numbers, known as Pair or Impair. Players can place bets on the first half (1 to 18) or second half (19 to 36) of the set of numbers, called Manqué ou Passes. Bets on the first, second or third set of 12 numbers is also done and called Douzaine; or on any one if the three columns of numbers, called Colonne.

When bets are placed on individual numbers, it is called inside bets; while the rest are known as outside bets. Bets on specific numbers are of the highest amounts. In Live TV Roulette a player has the liberty to choose from the 46 kinds of bets. According to the rule named En Prison, a player can either withdraw the bet or leave it for the next spin if he has placed the bet on an even number bet and the ball lands at '0'. If the bet is kept for the next spin, it stays "in prison" as the name of the rule suggests. The La Partage rule says that in the same condition, the player loses half his betting amount. The player will not be able to keep the rest in the prison.
