What to do on a rainy summer day

As promising as the weather looked at the beginning of the summer we are now experiencing a pretty bad summer which often seems to have more in common with a typical December day than a July one. We are all keeping our finger crossed that the sunshine will finally break through, in the mean time though we are experiencing some pretty dull washed out days.

There is no need to despair though, there plenty if great rainy day activities to make even the dullest days seem that bit brighter.

Watch a Summer Block Buster
The summer season is always an action packed one at your local cinema and this year is no exception. Hollywood has brought has a whole host of great popcorn movies to keep us entertained. The summers and the year's biggest movie is likely to the sixth installment of the incredibly popular Harry Potter movie. The latest film, The Half Blood Prince, sees his battle with the evil Lord Voldemort reach new and tragic heights. As well as the traditional action movies there are also a number of comedies to have you rolling in the aisles and some great family friendly films.

Catch up with some reading
Some may consider reading a bit boring yet they are clearly missing out. Reading a book can transport you to another time and place just as well as any movie or video game. There is a whole wealth of new and old classic just waiting to be discovered by you.

Visit a Museum
Another activity that some may find boring, though anyone who has been to one of the many fantastic museums around lately will know this is far from the truth. There are many museums across the country that will not only educate but entertain as well. Many modern museums also have great interactive exhibits allowing kids to play while they learn. Another great thing about museums is that many are completely free to enter!

Invite your Friends Round
If your stuck indoors because of the rain don't suffer alone, invite some friends around to keep you company. With your friends around why not grab some snacks and DVD's and settle back for a movie marathon, or plug in the games console and take on your mates at your favourite games and then lord it over them when you beating them. You could even go retro and breakout your favourite board games to play.
