Chuck Loeb Presence Smooth Jazz CD Review

Submitted by isolvum

One word describes the CD Presence from Chuck Loeb... AWESOME!

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it's own.

Presence is a pleasantly varied, mix of 11 tracks that are very well written and put together by this clearly superb artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are Mr. Loeb's own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

Chuck Loeb is one of those musicians with the ability to just bowl you over with his talent. The kind of artist it’s really a treat to be able to listen to.

I have enjoyed Chuck Loeb's music over the years and in fact have a few of his CDs in my collection. This latest one fits right in quite nicely.

Get Presence and give it a good listen and I believe you’ll find there's not much to dis-like about it. The songs are both inspired and inspiring, the production is simply outstanding, and Chuck Loeb's guitar work is as usual in top form. Of particular note on this offering is his clearly outstanding arrangement and rendition of Rikki Don't Lose That Number. I'm telling you if you're even mildly into Smooth Jazz music you'll enjoy this CD.

While this entire CD is really very good the truly standout tracks are track 2 - Rikki Don't Lose That Number, track 3 – Window Of The Soul, and track 11 – Shed A Little Light.

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 4, Starting Over. Great track!
