There are many so called Elvis collectibles on the market today. From die cast cars to key chains to clocks. But what truly are Elvis collectibles? Since the King of Rock n Roll was a singer, actor and musician, should not the true collectables deal with that? For me it does.

The old albums and 45's are more valuable as time goes on. Things that were made and purchases when the King was around and during his rise to stardom are what keep increasing in value.

But then there is also a whole set of collectables of things the King owned personally. The value of items depends on what it is worth to the owner. A good example of this is a gun Elvis owned that sold for $28,800. I doubt if the person actually uses it but what a keepsake. Little things that the people around Elvis kept that are now up for sale are things like a bottle of prescription medicine. Just the bottle without pills sold for $2,640. This is one heirloom I can live without.

Things to consider when owning or purchasing a collectible are many. One of the things is that mint condition items still in their original packaging are worth the most. If the item was owned or used by the King, there is added value that only a fan can put a price tag on.

If a fan is trying to complete a set of any one of the collectables, they are generally willing to pay more.

Some of the items that are most sought after by fans are 45's, LP's, magazines that had the King in them, card sets, movie programs, posters especially movie posters from a theater. All of these things have value depending on the condition. What your Elvis collectibles are worth depends on how much you love the King.
