Lie Or Fact: Are There Free Officially Authorized Music Downloading PlacesSubmitted by onlinereviews Wed, 28 May 2008
It is true; there are websites that advertise unlimited, free, legal music downloads. Most, if not all, of them are actually impostors. You may be able to find one or two sites that do offer free, unlimited, legal music downloads, but it will take a lot of searching on your part. Even if youve spent a good deal of time searching, you can turn up with no results.
Downloading music is easy, fast, convenient and very affordable. Can you download any music from legal websites for free? Yes and No. Many sites will allow you to download a certain number of songs at no cost to you before you are obliged to become a member. Even memberships, however, are very reasonable. You can often purchase a tune for well under a dollar and sometimes for as little as a quarter. Just be sure you do your homework on the front end --- look around, ask questions and see what is out there. If you are new at the music downloading process, there are a few things you should know upfront. The vast majority of sites do charge a small fee per song sometimes as little as twenty-five cents. Some sites claim you can download free, legal music to your hearts content. In most cases, that is simply not true. If you are given access to download hundreds of songs at no cost, you may be dealing with an illegal website or vendor. There are free songs available for legal download, but not too many. In most cases, websites let you download a few freebies. Once youre hooked on this marvelous way to get your music, they are counting on you joining their site as a member. Considering the cost of a single CD (often more than $15), these memberships are downright cheap. In most cases, you can pay monthly or quarterly and cancel at any time. Often, songs will cost well under $1 each sometimes as little as $0.25. One of the great things about getting your music through music downloads is the variety of available. Music is a great thing the whole family can enjoy. You can download Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) for the kids, The Plain White Ts for you and Bob Dylan or Jefferson Airplane for the grandparents. You can take turns listening to songs from each generation. Often, when introduced to different music, people develop a deeper appreciation of the art form. Does the site allow you to hear the song before downloading it (most do)? How large of a library of songs does the site have? Is it a specialty site or do they offer many types of music? Do they offer introductory plans when you can download a few songs free try before you buy? How much does it cost to download just one song? Are there package prices available; do you pay less if you download so many songs in a given period? Most of the free legal sites, in addition to offering a price per song, also offer package deals. For instance, one site offers 25 downloads per month for only $9.99 thats a cost of approximately $0.40 per song! You could choose a package which allows you to download 75 songs per month at a cost of $19.99 that represents an even greater savings you are only paying $0.27 per song.
