Filipino Folk Material in 7 Words

Filipino Folk material can be seen as 7 basic life principles: the 7 Words. Identity is first, where the central story can be put most simply as: who am I? Typically most of us need to become a lot clearer about the things we are trying to achieve. This concerns all things, from what is useful to avoiding sore, difficult or awkward feelings. The mystery is to know how to achieve clarity and then to find the solutions to problems. The 7 Words System offers a simple instinctive approach that enables us to access a much better awareness of what exactly we are looking for. The process kicks off with the word No. In the beginning we have to describe exactly what we don't want, what is not useful, before we can know what we do want.

Second, the quest for knowledge, reaching out beyond the horizons of habit to meet new people, new ideas and new ways to see the world. The next stage concerns the word Hello. We may well have to make ourselves open to new ways to see everything if we are to expand our choice of keys to the troubles that life throws up. We surely know that? To get something new we will need to stretch our sphere of awareness and look where we have not formerly looked previously. Novel dreams, new people, new situations and new things are clearly facets of giving some consideration to something we have not up to that time gone through. It requires that we switch old for new, that can tender something in adequate return for what we want to acquire for ourselves.

Then love. Romantic love between woman and man is favourite, yet the importance of family, village, nation and humanity itself also shows acts of kindness. Between all available choices, some are more pleasing than others and we feel we want to treat them as having a greater significance, because we appreciate them more. This is explained by the primary word Thanks. Frequently, we overlook the meaning of what we have, slide unconsciously into ingratitude and are likely to assume what should not be assumed. It's more than merely politeness to demonstrate our appreciation for things we attach importance to; it has a major part to play in helping us to reach our objectives . Unconsciously, we are pulled to what we express gratefulness for, and yet it's equally accurate to say that we will be able to draw them to us too. We improve our charisma when we say Thanks and therefore, whenever we do this, we easily bring things to come to us.

The Hero’s quest. The brave young man goes forward to take on challenges, either external or internal. The defeating of evil is a metaphor for the battle of light and darkness within one’s own heart. The word Goodbye is one of the seven primary words and relates to a procedure having 4 clearly defined stages. They are: realization, decision, completion and moving on. Goodbye is being said to a possible stage of development, and so can be perceived in basic terms as utter eradication of a viable course of action that we had been stepping towards and in future will not follow. It is a crossroad point in our pick of possible outcomes.Goodbye is different from No because it means that we have had connection already, which now needs to end compared to No's repudiation in the first place. Firm decisions cut the past away utterly and that incisiveness gives rise to an opening of a doorway that otherwise does not show itself.

Vision Quest. The seeker needs to find answers to deep issues of concern that expand power and wisdom. The future opens out according to the things considered normal of the past unless we take control of it and bend it to our desire. This requires us to have a vision of how we want it to be; this vision has to be very clear, particular and optimistic—and converted into intention. They differ don't they - vision and intention? The first is fairly dreamlike and the second is much more centered and controlled. For a vision to become real there must be help. Nothing can be made possible without earning the help of others - this takes skillfulness, in all probability persuasion, even stimulation. It is not always necessary to offer something such as money or money's worth.

Another theme that appears in song, myth and epic is redemption. Each of us, yearns to be released from the pain of guilt and shame, and purified through atonement. Sorry, the sixth word, is best seen as making good damage done because we've been thoughtless or heedless to the circumstances of someone else. The best plan is to make sure we avoid the need to say it by being considerate sooner. For what reason? Well it's because anyone we upset could easily be inclined to act against us and reduce our odds of accomplishing what we intend, so it is obviously more sensible to respect others as well as ourselves. It is all about being responsible, having a degree of feelings for anyone we've upset and making compensation when we've gone astray . Then and only then will it ever be feasible to prevent or patch up resentment and release the enduring nastiness that otherwise would grow and be a source of bitterness,.

The final journey is the quest for the absolute. This can take the form of spiritual ascendancy, seclusion, surrender and death, a final acknowledgement of the unity of all life. The last point of our 7 Words structure is to do with acceptance; there are times when we simply have to tolerate what we cannot change. The word is Yes. It would be perfect wouldn't it if we were able to make the world exactly the way we envision it - but in actual reality we can't. We always need to take what comes, and to take what is not exactly what we asked for.The paramount technique is to place reliance on the fact that everything in the long run turns around to our advantage, that the modifications to our plans are all improvements when perceived in the perspective of the longer term. Unquestionably it's not easy to see it when we are still close and attached to our desires of course not! However hold your fire and you may well see that the opportune occurrences, the surprises and frustrations are actually the best bits masquerading as adversity.
