With A Childrens Play Kitchen Practice Makes PerfectSubmitted by craigan Sat, 19 Sep 2009
Practice helps children. A childrens play kitchen can be a good learning tool for teaching children the importance of practicing different skills. As children develop and master skills they will start to feel more independent, confident, and ready for challenges. There are plenty of concepts that can be taught with the use of a childrens play kitchen. Most of which are basic life skills that children will need for personal, social, and potentially even career success.
Even though most of the children that use a play kitchen are preschool and elementary school age, they can still learn some very important and useful skills. One skill that will be instrumental throughout a child\'s life is etiquette. Parents can teach a child about serving, which utensils to use for which foods, and how to handle themselves in different situations. Children can practice these skills with or without their parents. The value comes in when they take those skills, and because they have practiced them, and are able to apply them in various social settings such as at school, in a restaurant, or when visiting friends. Parents will be proud of how mannerly their child is and other adults will appreciate their etiquette skills also. But, the key is to encourage the children to practice often. Another valuable concept that kids can practice on a childrens play kitchen are different math skills. Whether its sorting objects, learning about geometrical shapes, metrics, or simply adding and subtracting, the play can become even more valuable when children learn and practice these skills on a regular basis. An important life skills, which is also a mathematical concept is telling time. Some play kitchens such as the KidKraft Deluxe Pastel Kitchen offer a moveable clock that children can use to practice telling time. Parents can reinforce metric principles by providing their child with measuring cups and spoons that they can use on their own for play and practice. These introductions to different math concepts could really help the child to excel in their studies as well. A childrens play kitchen can be a valuable learning toy for kids to use as they learn and practice everything from etiquette to math. There are many useful applications of a play kitchen that children can benefit from. It is up to parents to introduce them and encourage lots of essential practice until their child feels that they have mastered them.
A childrens play kitchen offers an educational platform for children to learn and practice a myriad of skills ranging from etiquette to mathematics. Practicing these concepts could be the foundation for their long term personal success.
