It’s easy to accumulate bad credit but it is hard to get rid of for several reasons. Every time you apply for credit more people are aware of your credit information. Although it is illegal sometimes suspicious companies can manage to put information onto your credit report that will make people think that you have bad credit. With bad credit you cannot purchase what you need or want. You may argue about the fact that you know that your credit is good but you may not be able to prove it. There is a process to wiping out the bad credit reports placed onto your account by suspicious companies or individuals.

Credit card companies are becoming more noticeable with their ads, mail flyers and sometimes phone calls offering a great deal on a credit card. You soon realize that you have slipped behind on your credit card payments and now your credit card company is reporting all of this to the credit agencies. Occasionally you may receive an invitation from a credit card company that will help you pay off your debt by getting yourself a credit card that will cover the amount that is past due. Then you need to just make them payments on the debt. This may look helpful to you but you should read in between the lines.

If you have filed bankruptcy or you have a foreclosure on your record you have bad credit for a while. Financing companies know that you had to file in order to get out of debt. The reports of bankruptcies or foreclosures remain on your credit record for a long time sometimes seven years. When this happens you start with a clean record. Your credit cannot get any worse so it has to get better. For the most part, banks and financial institutions know that you can’t file for another bankruptcy for several years so if you take out credit now they know that you will either pay for it or lose what you financed. Some credit card companies or businesses will not report anything on your credit report unless you failed to pay on time or within the limit. When this happens no one gets to see how well you do only how many times you were late.

Having good credit can be a bonus when you are trying to purchase something. But one negative can ruin your chances or make it unaffordable with high interest. Bad credit is confusing when you think of all the different ways that you can ruin your credit in just a few short months. When you are young you need to establish good credit. Do this by purchasing something very small that you know you can pay back. Maybe you have the cash in your pocket but you need to see if you can get credit established. If you get the credit, make sure you pay the item off in the given time. Make payments when possible so that you can show proof that you are capable of making payments in order to pay something off on time. You are the only person that can help your
credit record. If it is too bad you may need to get a lawyer to help you fight the bad credit agencies that may not be legit.
