0 percent credit card: free money if used wisely

A 0 percent credit card is a great offer available from many financial institutions. There are three ways to use this card. Two are at the advantage of the account holder and one is to the advantage at which credit card company wishes you to use it.

The credit card company hopes that this free line of credit with no interest for a short period of time will encourage you to make those long delayed purchases that you want. This way the account holder will fall deeper in debt and once the introductory time is over the go to interest rate increase will make the credit card company more money.

The first way this free line of credit can be used to the advantage of the account holder is when a purchase is made, that the total is low enough that the revolving balance can be paid off before the introductory time period ends. This can be done successfully if properly planned out and the payments are worked into the budget.

Another way a 0 percent credit card offer can be used by the account holder to their advantage is to take a loan out from the card and make a short term investment. This will make the account holder some profit as long as there are no fees. The essential thing is to pay back the amount of the loan before the introductory time is over. If that is not done, them all the profit will be lost to interest due on the principal of the loan.

If the account holder has another 0 percent credit card offer then a loan from the second card can pay off the first card. When this is done, the money that has been invested can stay invested and no interest has been paid on the principal of the loan.
