Credit Crunch tips

Submitted by Linus Orakles

There are many ways that people can save a bit of money during the decline of the economy today. From food to housing tips, I have found tons of credit crunch tips that will help make the most of the dollars that you have. Only the ones that seem the most feasible to accomplish are going to be discussed here as the others seem a bit out of reach for many people.

Everyone has to eat even when times are tough. When going out to grocery shop, try to make sure that you are not going on an empty stomach. People are more likely to spend money on unnecessary items when they shop on an empty stomach. Also look for items that are marked down in price, many times stores will mark the prices way down in order to get them off the shelves so that they can put newer items in their place. Coupons are also a great way to save a few dollars, and over the course of a few weeks the dollars do add up to quite a bit. These credit crunch tips are able to be done by everyone with a little bit of effort.

Around the home is also an area where some small credit crunch tips can prove to have large savings to the owners. Try to take more showers rather than baths as they use about 1/3 less water which will reflect on your utility bills. Also invest in an energy saver showerhead. It reduces the amount of water used even more and most people do not even notice the difference when using them. Another way to save a few dollars is to make sure that any windows are well sealed before the winter months are upon you. This will reflect on your heating bills as less of the warm air will be escaping from the house and going outside, with more heat being inside the house you should be able to turn the thermostat down a degree or two as well which will show on that monthly bill as well.

There are some credit crunch tips that I follow with regards to laundry. Try to use cold water to wash your clothing. The clothes still come out just as clean and it will cut the electricity charges a lot if you are one of those people that always wash using hot water. Also try to hang your clothes out on a clothes line in the nice weather. Not only will it save the electricity charges from not using the dryer, but it will also help to keep the house cooler in the summer, reducing the need for an air conditioner to cool it down.

In almost every area of our lives there are ways that we can use credit crunch tips to save a few dollars. But when we save a few dollars here and there they do add up to be a lot of dollars over the long haul. Try keeping track a bit more closely. You will be amazed at the difference. These are just a few of the tips I have come across, but thye are paractical ones that anyone can do.
