Obama's Debt Relief Initiative Program Pays Off Your Personal Debt Using Free Federal Grant Money

Submitted by daudi811

Regardless of the controversy surrounding President Obama's Debt Relief Initiatives, one has only to look at the big picture to realize that the much-needed changes are being made to aid families struggling to make ends meet in these tough economic times.

Credit card companies are now limited in charges to their customers. This will lower current bills, however, if you are already in default, these companies are now more willing to work with you to lower you payoff amounts to much less than what is currently owed.

Home mortgage companies and banks now offer loan modifications that will reduce the monthly payments owed by homeowners. It is imperative if you are at risk of losing your home to speak to your lender regarding modifications to your loan as this will stop foreclosure proceedings.

Student loans are another area that has been modified by the federal government. If you have an outstanding federally funded student loan, repayment schedules based upon income and household size are available to you. Contact your loan officer.

Whether your current financial difficulties are due to poor choices, such as overspending, or circumstances beyond your control, such as job loss, there are programs available to alleviate some of your financial stress. Take the time to do some research. The federal and state governments offer free information for available programs. Companies touting promises to help you get out of debt may be scams, check them out with the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Trade Commission for legitimacy.
