Do You Have a Debt Problem?

Debtor anonymous says if you can answer 8 of these questions with a yes that you probably have some compulsive debt problems. If you fit this profile, just know that there is hope available and you are not alone.

Is your home life unhappy as a result of your debts?
Are you distracted by the stress of your debts?
Do your debts cause you to feel shame?
Are your debts causing others to think less of you?
Have you ever made promises to your creditors that you could not keep?
To obtain credit, have you ever falsified information?
Are you concerned about others finding out how far in debt you are?
Does your debt make you concerned for the welfare of your family?
Do your debts keep you from sleeping?
Does the idea that you can borrow money bring you relief when you are faced with a difficult financial situation?
Do you expect a less than favorable response when you are subject to a credit check?
Have you ever borrowed money without considering what it will cost you in the long run?
Do you feel you are entitled to this money and you can get out of debt anytime you want?
Have you ever developed a plan for paying your debts just to give in to pressure?

There are probably a lot more people in this situation than are not willing to admit it. If you feel you have a problem and have not gotten to the point where you can tell someone, there is a great deal of help available online. Debtors Anonymous has many websites and they are as good a place to start as any. There are also many types of counseling agencies available. There is no time like the present to start. Procrastination will only prolong and intensify the inevitable.
