Save on Self Employed Health Insurance

Submitted by dennisanthem

It is amazing to learn that there are ways to save money on health insurance, with just better information. While the national government and administration is struggling to find the cure to end all cures for expensive health care premiums, I do not understand why they refuse to release simple information that would save both consumers and businesses lots of money on this insurance, with no bickering, national programs or new legislation.

Here are some tips to same money on your insurance. All you have to do is ask your agent if your company offers these savings, and if you qualify.

Tip #1: Discounted gym memberships- Many insurance companies will reimburse you up to 50% of monthly fees to a maximum of $25 per month.

Tip #2: Discounted Lasik treatments- You can get up to 20% of the procedure cost for improving your eyesight.

Tip #3: You can get premium discounts if you quit smoking. I am not a smoker, but I know that Nicorette gum and other stop smoking aids are ridiculously expensive. It is very hard to stop smoking, and the insurance companies will help you by picking up part of the tab.

Tip #4: You should spend time getting competitive quotes from different carriers and ask them how they can save you money for special services you may want to use. Ask them why their insurance product is the best on the market and why you should purchase it. Take your time and make a wise decision.

Tip #5: The best way to save money is to reduce your coverage slightly, and assume part of the risk. You probably pay dollar for dollar for prescriptions and doctor visits any (without knowing about it), so if you pay for these two services out of your own pocket, your insurance premiums will be lower.
