Why It Makes No Sense Not To Get Individual Health InsuranceSubmitted by jarnold Thu, 27 Aug 2009
In today's economic and financial environment, individuals are trimming anywhere they can to save money. For the person who recently got laid off in the latest round of job losses, one of the things that will need to be considered seriously is individual health insurance.
In the past, individuals did not apply much thought to health insurance. It was invariably merely something that was there when they needed it, and was virtually always provided by one's employer. Whereas the scope and comprehensiveness of each company insurance policy was distinct, generally these were adequate policies. The problem is that these policies were only achievable through companies that were offering a group health insurance plan. The rates were extremely affordable in most situations, and individuals mostly took them for granted. But in today's world, individuals are examining the health insurance plans a bit more closely. In numerous situations, individuals are examining them a little TOO closely, and are cutting back on them to save a bit of money. The reality of it is that if they end up requiring the specific coverage that they cut back on, they will be financially ravaged because of the very high costs of medical treatments and operations in the medical world. Therefore in saving that $20 a month, for instance, they are working against luck, taking a roll of the dice, trusting that a particular sickness or accident will not take place, and if it does, they will be out of pocket for a thousand times or more of what they "saved". You actually need to consider it and ask why have insurance at all then? Many individuals sort of" have health insurance, but because of the restrictions and exclusions of their policy, it is nearly like not having health insurance. Should that be an option? Absolutely not, state experts. Not having adequate individual health insurance is akin to taking a chance with your life in worst case, or at least taking a chance with financial devastation even in best case. The worst aspect of all of this is that many individuals merely assume that obtaining an individual health insurance policy is too costly. Many individuals making this affirmation are just quoting what they assume or have been told from others, or maybe from the three minutes they spent searching for quotes. But the reality of this is that such policies are available and they are more affordable than ever these days. You might want full coverage because you don't have health insurance elsewhere, or perhaps you merely want something to pick up where your employer's health insurance leaves off. Regardless what the case, you can get an individual health insurance policy that is tailor-made to your needs and requirements. This would be a policy that will keep you fully covered and protected. You never know what the future has in store for you health-wise, but the best thing you can do is ensure you are protected from negative things that can happen to you from a health and sickness perspective.
